Play Greywolf On Xbox

Greywolf - 6th Hole from the teeLinks, the best selling golf franchise for the personal computer, includes Panorama’s Greywolf Golf Course as one of the few championship courses featured in the game Links 2004 built exclusively for the Xbox system.

“The game’s portrayal of Greywolf is almost an exact replica of the golf course. Every tree, the undulation of the greens and fairways, and even the elevation changes, are identical to the course”, says Peter Smith, Director of Golf for Greywolf. “It’s a great way for someone who has never played Greywolf to practice and get comfortable with the course before they come out and play the real thing.

Greywolf - 2nd hole from the teeGreywolf is the only Canadian course on the game and is included among some of the best courses in the world, including Oakmont (USA), Loch Lomond (Scotland), Superstition Mountain (USA) and probably the most famous of them all, the old course at St. Andrews (Scotland).

Lanny Nielsen and his team from Microsoft, arrived at Panorama Mountain Village on June 24, 2002 to film the course for the creation of the video game. The team had one week to measure every blade of grass, every speck of sand, and every needle on every tree at Greywolf. Video, still photography, and GPS calculations provided Micorsoft’s team with data that took three to four months to process. Their precise research is evident in the finished product. Greywolf Golf Course’s spectacular fairways and fun play comes to Greywolf - 6th tee from abovelife with sun-cast shadows that change depending on the time of day, golf course wildlife, and awe-inspiring views of the surrounding Purcell Mountains.

"This is truly one of the most spectacular courses we have filmed. Our customers are going to like this course on Xbox," says Lanny Nielsen, Microsoft’s project coordinator.
